The Guided Light Integration, Design, and Experimentation (GLIDE) Lab, led by Dr. Jobayer Hossain at the University of North Dakota, designs, fabricates, and characterizes photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for next-generation computing and sensing, spanning photonic AI accelerators and neuromorphic computing, RF-photonic sensing, filtering and beam-steering, photonic quantum computing, and photonic interconnects.
Dr. Hossain joined UND in January 2026 after more than four years in industry as a Silicon Photonics Engineer at AIM Photonics and a Senior Photonic Integrated Circuit Design Engineer at Phase Sensitive Innovations. The lab is supported by funding from ND EPSCoR, and has grown to three Ph.D. students and two undergraduate researcher.
